About
A number should point to its page.
Why Takarda exists, and the six principles it is held to.
01 Mission
Make the data you pull out as honest as the page it came from.
Papers arrive as PDFs, scans and photos. Someone types what matters into a spreadsheet. Takarda carries what is printed into the columns you choose, shows where each value came from, and says plainly when the page does not show it.
02 Principles
Six things we will not bend.
- 01
Every value points to its page.
A value shows the box it came from, or it reads Not on the page.
- 02
Warn, do not fix.
A check marks a value. It never edits one. Only a person changes a value, and the printed one stays beside the change.
- 03
Missing is not guessed.
If the page does not show a value, the cell stays empty and says so. Nothing is filled in to look complete.
- 04
Nothing leaves until you confirm it.
A file is downloaded only after a person has looked at it and confirmed it.
- 05
The paper can be wrong.
If the document itself is wrong, you keep the printed value and say why. The warning closes with your reason, and the value is not edited.
- 06
Numbers come with a method.
Every measured figure on this site says how many it was measured on, and where the documents came from. Prices come from one plans file.
03 Nigeria
Made for Nigerian paperwork.
Documents here arrive as PDFs, scans and photos taken on a phone, in many layouts, priced in naira with VAT of 7.5%, with Tax IDs that the next invoice needs. Dates are written day then month. Takarda is made for that.
